I heard from someone on Twitch in late April that she was not able to get the codeine she needs. The person in question was Winter Corvus, a transgender woman who takes codeine medication to relieve her pain. At that point I realized that there was a codeine shortage that had begun across the entirety of North America and is expected to get even worse. I was on Twitch from the fall of 2017 until I was forced to leave the platform permanently in late March 2022.
