In 2018, Trumpism began expanding into Canada. The expansion was caused by an increase in poverty that was brought upon by an increase in the austerity measures that had been in place in provinces like Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Quebec since the 1990s. For the past 3 years, Trumpist politicians have won many elections in Canada at a provincial level; the 3 most notable elections in those provinces caused Legault and Kenney to be elected. Moe was already elected in 2016 but he revised his platform to be Trumpist for the 2020 election. It is only a matter of time before Trumpism expands across Canada, and the election of proto-Trumpist Don Ford as premier of Ontario in 2018 set the circuit in motion for more politicians like him to be elected. Canada's social safety net began to collapse in the late 1980s, albeit at a slower rate than America's social policies. However, in recent years, the rate at which the social safety net is weakening has greatly increased. This will cause the social safety net to collapse completely by 2030.
