Many ND and Liberal premiers implemented austerity measures in the past few decades that increased poverty, resulting in fascist parties being elected to power. The collapse of the US dollar as the world's reserve currency will unfortunately make Canada unable to weather the onslaught of fascism that the United States is facing right now. Austerity measures in Canada have increased inequality as well.
