The age of liquidation is happening because we are not going to be able to meet the fossil fuel reduction targets that have been required to be met by December 31, 2024. This date was chosen because it would be the date when the total CO2 emissions will breach the 425 ppm civilization upper safety limit. and once that limit is broken, CO2 will exponentially grow past 450 ppm within 15 years of that date, and would exceed 550 ppm by the late 2070s. The mass human extinction event that will take place when the temperatures blow past 2ºC is slated to accelerate as the temperatures get closer to 4ºC, a limit that will be breached by the early 2060s. Less than 250 million humans are expected to survive the extinction event that will happen between 2050 and 2200. New York city is expected to survive the first phase of the climate induced refugee exodus, but will not survive the second phase and later phases due to expected sea level rise that will dwarf what happened during Hurricane Sandy. The planet is quickly running out of the resources it needs to sustain its civilizations. Food production had to be cut after 2019 due to the planet running out of resources.
