The GOP is made of three kinds of people — all of whom add up to being Trump sympathizers, sycophants, enablers, even if he’s not President anymore. One, true believers — like Josh Hawley, of the white supremacy fist pump and Marjorie Taylor Greene, QAnon’s very own Congressional voice, who thinks the Jews shot space lasers at California. Two, the ones who back Trump’s political project of bringing fascism to America, but are smart enough to, say, quote Bible verses to cover it up — like Ted Cruz and Marco Rubio. And three, the ones who put forth a “conflicted” public image — but have never really opposed Trumpism’s goals when it mattered. Here, I think of people like Rand Paul and even Mitt Romney.
