The two functioning socieities listed here have been imposing austerity measures since the 1990s and are now getting closer to becoming the same state America is today. The financial crisis of 2008 prompted further austerity measures to be imposed. This resulted in an increase in poverty, causing fascist parties to rise to power in certain areas of both regions. We are seeing examples of this happening in Spain and Alberta right now. In some cases, Italy and France could become the next 2 nations to experience this. It's because of austerity that the Canadian and European governments are now becoming fascist states.
