This essay best describes how life in America has gone since the early 2000s. In the early 1980s, Ronald Reagan and Margaret Thatcher began enacting neoliberal policies. Both the US and the UK, along with Brazil and Chile and Argentina, adopted those neoliberal polcies that made those countries collapse economically between 2001 and 2014. The end result was that populist police-state regimes began to rise to power in those areas. In fact, Trump, Johnson, Bolsonaro, Piñera, and Macri are symptoms of even bigger problems. Their political systems are rotten to the core and will destroy themselves in the end.
