Trump did not destroy America's reputation as a democracy. He ripped back the veil that covered our failed democracy. The veil began to be built by Margaret Thatcher, Ronald Reagan, José Sarney, Turgurt Ozal, and a few other presidents who claimed to be neoliberals. You have to remember that Trump did not build the cages and the camps that prevailed after the 2008 financial crisis. It is climate change in the Arabian regions and Central America that fuels neofascism.
