What is happening here is that the world is running out of the resources it needs to sustain its civlization. The fourth turning that the US is experiencing right now is going to be followed by a fifth turning rather than a first turning because this fourth turning in the Strauss-Howe generational theory is coinciding with the Limits to Growth theory. Back in the early 1970s, the creators of this theory predicted that the earth would run out of resources in the mid-21st century, causing the population, food production, and induastrial production to collapse simultaneously after 2030.
